A Fairytale Shoe: Jasmine Edition

IMG_0707

We understand that  Cinderella is known for elegant, sky-high heels, but Jasmine was the princess who rocked anything but traditional. As soon as I laid eyes on these gorgeous sandals, I envisioned them being worn by a Middle Eastern princess with gorgeous Arabian eyeliner and black long hair.

  1. Glam in a Practical Way. These sandals allow glamour and richness without having to worry about a six inch heel. You can wear allure in an everyday shoe.
  2. A Gorgeous Design. The embroidery is so beautiful. Personally, pairing these shoes with a simple outfit would be great because they are such a statement themselves.
  3. The Color. I love this air force blue because it is so unique, yet wearable. It is such an unexpected color for a shoe.

Purchased at Nine West.

HAIR CARE 101: My Hair Routine….

IMG_02561)  Wash: I love Organix’s Quenched Sea Mineral Shampoo&Conditioner. I prefer to only wash my hair once or twice a week. I shampoo my ends and roots making sure all the access oils and dirt are removed from my hair. Then, I apply a generous amount of conditioner to the middle of my hair and ends. DO NOT apply to roots. It will weigh down hair and your roots will become greasy. I leave in conditioner for about fifteen minutes and then wash out.

2) Mask time: After washing, I like to apply a hair mask weekly because it not only hydrates my hair, but also fixes damaged hair. I like Wen’s Tea Tree Re-Moist Hydrating Hair Mask. I like to section my hair when applying to make sure the product is equally distributed. I leave in my hair for approximately thirty to forty minutes before washing out with cool water.

3) Serum Massage: Messaging a hair growing serum to your roots increases a growth in length. I apply a dime size amount of Caviar Repair Lengthening Hair&Scalp Elxir between the hair follicles of my roots. I find the product to also treat my scalp which is important, since we forget to care for that part of our hair.

4) Protecting my Hair: I use Wen’s Summer Coconut Lime Verbena Styling Creme. I absolutely adore not only the aromatic smell, but how it is a three- in- one product. The creme is an anti-frizzer, protector of heat, and shine booster. I apply about three pumps, concentrating on mid area and ends of my hair.

5)  Brush&Blow-dry: I like to blow-dry my hair with the T3 Featherweight 2. The packaging is so gorgeous and only takes 10 minutes to dry my hair. I prefer blow-drying rather than air because I find my hair is easier to style and less frizzy.

6) Styling to Curl-Perfection: Sometimes, in the next day or two, I will decide to curl my hair because it is much better to curl “dirty hair.” I use my Chi Smart Silk Volumizing Iron Guard Mist for extra heat protection. I curl my hair outwards and brush through so it becomes bouncy, loose waves.

PRODUCT REVIEW: Giambattista Valli Mac Lipstick Line…

IMG_0222

As a fashion and beauty addict, finding out that Giambattista Valli was creating a lipstick collaboration with Mac sent a girl into lipstick heaven. Giambattista is one of my favorite couture designers, so purchasing each lipstick was a must. My other makeup-obsessed friend and I drove over an hour to purchase the line that was sold-out almost everywhere.

IMG_0219

1) Matte Margherita

The orange lipstick is light and the least pigmented of the collection. It is perfect if you are not so bold with your lipstick choices and trying to make more of a subtle statement.

2) Matte Tats

The bright pink is my favorite of the collection because I adore the femininity. The color is extremely vibrant and is appropriate for the spring and summer.

3) Matte Charlotte

The Matte Charlotte is more than an appropriate name for the deep red color. The name Charlotte reminds me of the famous upper east-sider princess Charlotte from Sex and the City and coincidentally, the gorgeous shade is a classic New York color. Think Marilyn Monroe 50s. In my opinion, it is a necessity in every girl’s lipstick wardrobe.

4) Eugenie

Eugenie is definitely the most dramatic color, which is a mixture of brown, red, and plum. The shade makes a gorgeous fall and winter statement lip. I can not wait to pair this look with long lashes.

5) Bianca B

At first, I was the most excited to try out this pale pink. However, once applying, I found the color to be so pigmented that I looked as if I had cocaine on my lips. I wish the lipstick was slightly darker or more of a pink than white, because I found the product not worth purchasing.

A Little Black Dress…

CJR3G3SWUAAtW_9

A Friday night party calls for nothing less or more than a LBD, but can an item so simple seem basic? My friend always asks how such an iconic piece of clothing represents an individual’s sense of style. I mean, black is the most lifeless color which is even the most appropriate to where at funerals. However, a dress so plain challenges how strong your sense of style is. For example, the LBD I chose has a bohemian, vampy feel with long lace sleeves. In contrast, I paired it with my glamorous gold Ralph Lauren heels and my classic Tiffany’s pearl necklace. Also, I love my mid-part loose waves hair. The texture looks so smooth. The style is polished yet effortless.

A Pretty in Pink Moment ft. PROM

IMG_8599

Dress: Usually, I would not wear such a flashy pink, but I love how the color complimented my complexion.

24d3e41c7467247d72a222b405815328 The fit was perfect and the silhouette was similar to the dress Marilyn Monroe wore in How to Marry a Millionaire.

Accessories: I wanted my accessories to match the gold embroidery on the upper dress part. I am so obsessed with these gold Ralph Lauren heels and white clutch I purchased at The Little Black Dress. Admittingly, the clutch was a statement that completed the look.

IMG_8584

Makeup: I really focused on my eyes. I chose a shimmery neutral color shadow and a light pink-nudish lip.

IMG_8588

Hair: I chose a simple style that showed off the gorgeous embroidered straps. I loved the middle-part ponytail because it is sophisticated, yet fun and low-maintence.

The Perfect Start-Up With a Little Kate Spade…

IMG_8518 My daily morning routine consists of spraying Kate Spade’s Live Color Fully all over my body. The perfume is perfect for not only a flowery, sweet smell but also the moment you find yourself needing a little inspiration. Kate Spade created an aromatic scent that fully awakens me and gives a kick-start to my day feeling motivated to take on the world. Whenever I am feeling down or stressed, I spritz on a little Kate Spade and I instantly find my safe place. Also, admittedly, I have a guilty pleasure for packaging and I adore the bow cap on the bottle.

A Little Ol’ Introduction by Yours Truly…

Kate Spade once said, “Playing dress-up begins at age five and never truly ends.” Since I was a little girl, I would run into my mother’s closet and look for the top that sparkled the most, the lipstick that was the reddest, and the heels that were the highest. Fashion and beauty is a powerful tool that allows self-expression and innovation. Yes, makeup techniques like contouring does produce a better, slimmer version of yourself, but that’s not the only reason why beauty and fashion exist. For example, pairing a leather jacket with a classic LBD depicts a person’s edge and spontaneous streak. In my case, I use the power of eyeliner and shimmery eyeshadow to make my big, green eyes a statement. I wouldn’t be me without the thin black line on my upper eyelid. GinasSweetLittleFinds is a blog dedicated to those little, unique items that define personal style. Whether it may be a gold watch, a mac lipstick, or a vintage skirt- those special finds is what makes life a little more sweeter.
